Our Tinggly ‘Fun Together’ Adventure!

Given the state of travel at the time of this collaboration, we used our ‘Fun Together‘ gift box on a local experience. Being based in the Outer Banks of North Carolina, our experience was water based, which suites us just fine! As a reminder, sustainable experiences with Tinggly are available all over the world.

For our expereince, we found ourselves at Kitty Hawk Kayak & Surf School located in Kitty Hawk, NC. They offer various activities including kayaking, surfing and stand-up paddle boarding, the last of which is the experience we selected. Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted by our guide, Olivia, who spent the following two hours leading us around a local marsh. Born and raised in the Outer Banks, Olivia is an environmental educator who is highly knowledgeable about the local flora and fauna. She really knows her stuff!

We have rented stand-up paddle boards in the past, but we don’t do it often, which is why we chose thisparticular experience. If you’re new to stand-up paddle boarding, it’s actually quite simple! There is a bit of a balance requirement, but if you stay in the center of the board, it’s pretty much smooth sailing. Kitty Hawk Kayak & Surf School provide the personal floatation vests and you will need to wear it during the experience.

Outer Banks Wildlife

There are so many animals to see on your paddle boarding experience! The Outer Banks is where the north and south meet when it comes to North American species. From common, Northeast, coastal birds like the great blue heron to the Southeast dominant American alligator, you can see it all here in the Outer Banks of North Carolina.
